- If you’ve ever wanted to spend more time outdoors while you work, Microsoft may be the employer for you! As part of recent renovations to their Redmond campus, Microsoft built tree houses as part of the “outdoor districts” which connect other buildings on the property. They feature rustproof rocking chairs, weatherproof benches, an outdoor WiFi network and more.

- In an effort to reverse deforestation and transform the sandy dunes across China’s arid northern territories, workers have been building a “Great Green Wall.” According to China’s State Forestry Administration, this strategy has reduced sandstorms by 20 percent and desertification by nearly 5,000 miles in recent years.

- A descendant of an original Johnny Appleseed tree was recently planted on the lawn of the Effingham County Museum in Effingham, Illinois in honor of the state’s upcoming bicentennial in 2018. John Chapman, nicknamed Johnny Appleseed, was an American pioneer who introduced apple trees to the area.
